Indigo AI, Italy’s leading startup in the development of virtual assistants powered by conversational AI, announced the closing of a €10 million Series B round on January 29, 2025. The company was founded in 2016 by five enthusiastic students from Politecnico di Milano. This new investment follows the €2.5 million already raised in January 2024 from Gruppo Vedrai, and now includes participation from Gruppo Azimut, an independent and global player in asset management, wealth management, investment banking, and fintech, serving both individuals and businesses.

A new approach to conversational AI

The funding will support Indigo AI’s consolidation strategy in the Italian market, as well as its plans for international expansion.

Today, Indigo AI provides a wide range of industries with virtual assistants powered by next-generation AI Agents, designed to strengthen user relationships through fluid, empathic conversations that have a direct impact on customer care, loyalty, and ultimately, brand performance.

Collaborations with leading brands

In addition to long-standing clients such as Enel, Santander Consumer Bank, Lavazza, Bayer, and Telepass, Indigo AI has, over the past year, established new collaborations with major brands across various sectors, including DentalPro, Opyn, Università Bocconi, Consorzio Netcomm, and Pensionati.it.

The company’s ongoing technological innovation has enabled the launch of cutting-edge projects, such as:

  • Flou, the Italian design furniture brand, which implemented AI Agents on WhatsApp;

  • Unobravo, an online psychology service, which integrated a virtual assistant developed to offer technical support to users;

  • Satispay, Italy’s leading digital payment network, which uses Indigo AI’s Agents to provide in-app customer support.

A new growth model

Indigo AI’s business model goes beyond direct sales. In 2024, the company launched its first Partnership Program, aiming to grow alongside system integrators and tech consulting firms that guide large corporations in their digital transformation.

2025 Roadmap

Looking ahead to 2025, in light of the ongoing evolution in the AI landscape, Indigo AI will focus on developing new technological solutions and advanced features. Priorities will include expanding supported channels, building native integrations with customer service and CRM platforms, and delivering a complete, scalable platform that meets market expectations and ensures an even more seamless user experience.
