Poste Italiane launches a pilot of Voidless’ on-demand packaging to assess its strengths and scalability.
At its logistics center in Vidigulfo, in the province of Pavia, Poste Italiane is piloting Voidless’ sustainable on-demand packaging solution.
Voidless’ sustainable packaging goes on trial at Poste Italiane’s logistics center in Vidigulfo, thanks to a funding round led by CDP Venture Capital – through the Corporate Partners I Fund, Industry Tech segment – and the Italo-French venture capital firm 360 Capital.
Today, the startup has the opportunity to test in the field the effectiveness of its technological solution in reducing overpacking, the use of standard packaging larger than necessary.
“We chose to apply through Poste Italiane’s Open Innovation platform,” says Carlo Villani, CEO and Co-founder of Voidless, “because we realized that Poste’s new industrial plan was perfectly aligned with our solution, and our technology directly addresses one of the company’s key needs.”
“The Voidless project was born out of the collaboration with Politecnico di Milano and PoliHub,” said Alessandro Leonardi, Head of Open Innovation DTO at Poste Italiane. “That’s why we’re able to move quickly in implementing new solutions and provide services to other companies—what we test ourselves becomes a market-ready solution.”
The 6–12 month pilot program aims to identify the key strengths of the technology in order to scale the solution across other logistics lines in the future.
