Postura Ergonomics, a Deep Tech startup and winner of Switch2Product 2020, which develops an AI-powered platform for ergonomic analysis in manufacturing companies, has announced the closing of a €625k funding round. The funds will be used to expand the team and enhance the technology platform, with the goal of accelerating growth and strengthening the company’s market presence.
The round was backed by CDP Venture Capital SGR through its Accelerators Fund, alongside Indaba and FitActive, two companies active in the wellness sector.
Innovation for workplace safety and wellbeing
Postura Ergonomics aims to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and promote safer work environments through the application of artificial intelligence. The platform analyzes work cycle videos in just a few minutes, assessing the ergonomic risk of workstations based on current regulations. This technology enables companies to improve workplace safety, reducing the incidence of injuries and related health conditions.
From home fitness to workplace prevention: the evolution of Postura Ergonomics
The startup was founded by Daniele Gusmini (CEO), Giuseppe Pastore (CTO), Lapo Peruzzi (CPO), and Andrea Rotella (CSO)—a team of engineers and designers from Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino. Their solution combines an AI-based motion tracking system, a smartphone app, and a web dashboard, enabling fast, automated, and objective assessment of workstation ergonomics.
Postura Ergonomics’ story began in 2021 with Switch2Product, in a completely different sector: home fitness. Initially operating under the name Gymnasio, the startup had developed a virtual AI trainer capable of monitoring and correcting users’ movements during workouts.
“We’ve repositioned our technology, which now enables the automatic analysis of movements to help reduce the risks linked to poor posture and manual handling of loads, thereby preventing musculoskeletal disorders,” explains Daniele Gusmini, CEO of Postura Ergonomics.
Thanks to this strategic shift, Postura Ergonomics has emerged as a rising player in the workplace safety sector, with a mission to transform the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders through advanced technological solutions.
